Watch-LED manufactures all types of custom steel cabinets and parts. We offer a full range of fabricating services,
including CNC punching, bending, laser cutting, welding, forming, finishing (including powder coating, plating, and
anodizing) and assembly services.

The following steps are general ways involved in the sheet metal cabinet fabrication process:

1.Design
Created 3D models by CAD software and technical drawings are prepared. The design should meet the specifications and requirements of the project. Turn your idea into physical precision fabricated sheet metal parts.?

2, Select the material
The material is usually chosen based on factors such as strength, durability, and budget. Below are the normal materials we choose and used:
Aluminum: lightweight and corrosion-resistant, easy to process, suitable for various surface treatments (e.g. grained finished, powder-coated,
anodized, etc.). 5052-H32, 2024, 6061, 7075 aluminum sheet is commonly used. Available in 0.032” to 0.250” thicknesses.
Stainless steel: High strength, durability, and corrosion resistance, commonly used in the food, medical and chemical industries. It’s also suitable
for a variety of surface finishing. 304, 304L, 316, 316L stainless steel available in 0.025” to 0.187” thicknesses range or customized.
Cold rolled steel: A high strength and corrosion resistance, durable and cost-effective material. With various coating options, suitable for general
purpose enclosure material.
Copper: flexible, soft, and ductile, excellent thermal and electrical conductivity, ideal for certain electrical and electronic applications.
Besides material, we also need to choose the appropriate thickness (i.e., gauge) for the cabinet/enclosure.

3, Sheet Metal Cutting:
The sheet metal is then cut to the required size and shape using various cutting tools, such as laser cutting machines or shears. Ideal for cutting parts with complex design, minimum material waste. CNC punch press: Suitable for mass production of standard geometry parts. Fast speed and repeatable cutting. The punch press punches holes in the sheet metal or cut out shapes.

4, Sheet Metal Bending:
After cutting, the sheet metal is bent into the desired shape with a folder or press brake.

5, Sheet Metal Welding:
Once the metal has been bent into the required shape, it is welded together to form the item structure. Different metal welding methods can be used:
MIG welding: It is a fast and economical method and is used for welding many metals such as aluminum, steel, stainless steel.
TIG welding: Provides high quality and clean welds. Used for precision applications and welding thin sheets of metal.
Laser welding: Provides high precision and low heat effect. Precision applications and for welding different types of metals. The laser beam melts metals joins.

Resistance welding: Different resistance welding methods are available, such as spot welding and seam welding and Tack welding. Cost-effective for mass production.

6, Finishing:
After welding, the cabinet is sanded, cleaned, and coated. According to customer’s requirement, we can also do sandblasting, grinding, polishing, brushing,
spraying, painting, blackening, anodizing, electrochemical polishing, electroplating, etc. It is used to improve the aesthetic appearance of the item, protect it
against corrosion and increase its durability. Common surface treatment and coating methods are:

Powder coating: electrostatically sprayed onto the metal surface and then baked, available in different colors and textures. It’s durable and aesthetic coating.
Wet paint: A more economical option than powder coating. It offers different color and gloss options. Wet paint is applied with a brush, roller or spray gun.
Anodizing: Increases corrosion resistance on aluminum surfaces and provides an aesthetic appearance.
Galvanized: coating of steel with zinc, improves corrosion resistance on steel surfaces.

7, Assembly and Quality Control
Once all parts are prepared, the metal item is assembled. After assembly, the quality of the control is performed. In this process, need to check the dimensions,
tolerances, weld quality and surface operations, functional test.
